Activities

The Network of VET Trainers is funded under the network strand of the EU’s Leonardo da Vinci programme for duration of three years (until 10/2010). In this framework the Network will carry out a series of network activities which are being organised and supported by the Network’s partners and members. These activities involve two joint network activities and two on-line conferences and one face-to-face conference.

The first joint network activity involves the implementation of a small-scale survey of VET trainers in about 20 European countries, while the second activity focuses on policies and programming in the area of VET trainers and teachers. This survey has been completed on 27 October 2008. The first on-line conference was held 5-6 November 2008 on the ‘Training of Trainers’.

The conference proceedings of the first on-line conference are available here.

The second joint network activity is focusing on innovative programmes and policies in the area of VET trainers. Programming and the  continuing professional development of trainers will be the thematic focus with the aim of developing some kind of roadmap for the improvement of the work situation and qualification of trainers. The acitivity will identify good practice examples of programming and policies through national case studies and discuss and model the transferability to other areas, sectors and national contexts as well as possible models for a European dimension or framework. The starting event of this second network activity is an online discussion on the prospects of a qualification framework for trainers in Europe that started on 19 May 2009 with a video conference of the network partners and is continued on the Network’s mailing list server.

The input paper for the online discussion is available here.
