They are called smileys or emotions.</p>
<p>I am a great fan of smileys. They add some human touch to my texts and help me express what I am feeling. In other words, they help me convey the message in a different way. In my opinion it is the (online) text&#8217;s virtual body language! <img src='http://www.trainersineurope.org/cristinacost/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';-)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>I have just put together a small explanation <a href="http://knowmansland.com/trainersineu/using_emotions.html">here</a>.</p>
<p>It is really easy to create these nice yellow fellas! <img src='http://www.trainersineurope.org/cristinacost/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';-)' class='wp-smiley' /> The problem is when the get green! <img src='http://www.trainersineurope.org/cristinacost/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif' alt='' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>Hope you like it! <img src='http://www.trainersineurope.org/cristinacost/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif' alt=':-D' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
